- Description
This group, designed as a 6-session course offered at various times throughout the year can help families to support their loved one with concurrent disorders (serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use), and also to support themselves.
It includes:
- Information on the impact of serious mental illness and addiction on family life
- education on self-care strategies for family members, understanding, and coping.
- Tips on recognizing and planning for relapses, and on anticipating and coping with crisis situations

- Family, friends, loved ones, caregivers of someone with a concurrent disorder (serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use/addiction)
